Thank you for taking a moment to let us introduce our company to you. Powers & Associates General Contractor, Inc. is both incorporated and licensed as a general contractor in the State of Alabama.

We began this business in 1987. Mr. Tom Powers’ previous construction experience was with a leading contractor in Birmingham, Alabama for over ten years. During that time he served as project manager, construction manager, and general manager handling commercial and industrial projects.

Powers & Associates General Contractor, Inc. is a dealer for Metallic Building Company pre-engineered metal buildings, and Mr. Powers has been personally associated with pre-engineered metal buildings for over 30 years.

As a general contractor in the field of industrial and commercial construction, we utilize both pre-engineered and conventional steel structures. We also have abilities in the area of heavy concrete construction and a full compliment of subcontractors for interior finish work, or ADA upgrade renovations. Therefore, we feel that our company could handle most any project, large or small, that you may require.

Our specialty is Design and Build projects. We work with several local architects and engineers on the design work for these projects. We have also included a list of references. In 1987 Tom Powers left his position as General Manager of a large construction company in Birmingham, Alabama to form
Powers & Associates General Contractor, Inc. He brought with him over 20 years of construction experience from heavy industrial construction to commercial office/warehouse complexes to complete office renovations. Mr. Powers had major responsibilities in the successful completion of a $42 million facility for Chicago Bridge and Iron Company.

Mr. Powers has also been responsible for the successful completion of projects for such valuable clients as United States Steel, Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Inc., International Motorsports Hall of Fame,Andritz, Inc., Red Diamond Coffee Company,the City of Pelham (Pelham Civic Complex), Parkwest Corporate Center, Cellular Sales (a Verizon Wireless Retailer), Tractor & Equipment Company, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, the City of Trussville and many others.

Mr. Powers has taken several specialized courses including cost awareness for construction (University of Alabama at Birmingham), welding procedures (American Welding Society), and the Steelox Systems (formerly Armco Building Systems) course on Roof Systems and Re-roofing, along with other selected courses. He also completed the Dale Carnegie Course with special recognition.

Mr. Powers is a native of Birmingham, and currently resides in Trussville, Alabama with his wife. He is an award winning participant in tournament archery and avidly pursues his interest in bow hunting.
